About Becoming with AI

Practical strategies for thinking with machines.

The AI conversation is noisy. One side screams that AI will replace us. The other side promises it will solve everything. Meanwhile, most of us are just trying to get our work done without losing our minds.

Becoming with AI is a newsletter for the builders, the tinkerers, and the curious who want to move past the hype and find the signal.

Why I Started This

I’m Aslı. I’m a software engineer with more than 10+ years of experience. I speak the language of machines.

But when the AI wave hit, even I felt like I was drowning. The news cycle was relentless. The hype was blinding. I realized that if I was feeling lost in the noise, most people didn’t stand a chance.

I saw a widening gap. On one side, the engineers building the models, talking about parameters and weights. On the other side, the people expected to use them, just trying to solve real human problems.

I started Becoming with AI to close that gap.

I want to be the translator between the code and the culture. My goal is to take the technical reality of AI and filter it into clear, usable insights.

Eventually, I want this to be more than just a newsletter. I want to build a space where technical and non-technical people can come together to figure this out—not by competing with machines, but by becoming better thinkers with them.

A Place to Start

If you’re new here, I put together a short guide called Automate the Boring.

It’s a practical introduction to how I think about AI in everyday work—how to delegate the draining tasks, reduce mental friction, and get time back for work that requires judgment and creativity.

It’s free, and you can read it at your own pace here:

What We Do Here

This isn’t a news feed. You won’t find breathlessly updates about every new model release.

Instead, we focus on the practice of using AI. We treat AI not as a magic wand, but as a “Thinking Partner”—a tool that helps us clear the clutter so we can get back to the work that actually matters.

Expect to read about:

  • Practical Workflows: How to automate the boring stuff so you can reclaim your time.

  • Prompting as Thinking: Moving beyond “tips and tricks” to understanding how to communicate intent clearly.

  • The Human Guardrails: Defining where AI stops and where you must begin (Creativity, Connection, and Taste).

  • Experiments: I publicly share what I’m building and learning, failures included.

Who This Is For

You don’t need to know Python to read this. You just need to be willing to look at technology differently.

Whether you are a developer looking for balance, a creative looking for structure, or a leader looking for clarity—you are welcome here.

Let’s turn the noise into leverage.
